Golden Geometry for an Entryway

In October, I had the pleasure of painting an entryway for a client in the Upper East Side. When she asked if I could paint some geometric shapes with gold, metallic finish, I said YES. I had been dying to try metallic wall paint, as it’s something I had not worked with before.

We used a reference image as inspiration from Architectural Digest, which brought me to create many different digital options before we landed on the final design. We wanted to utilize multiple shapes with contrasting round and straight edges, while finding the sweet spot of where they would meet.

I created 2 vignettes in my client’s front hallway; one surrounding the front door, and another down the hallway, separated only by a built in shelving unit.

I tested different paints and ultimately went with Metallic Masters brand and was so pleased with the quality and finish. My client loved it so much, and I hope to work with her again one day. I can’t wait to do another metallic mural in the future!
